A big announcement...

After 14 years of cramming my small business activities into any available corner in whatever 1 bedroom apartment rental I was residing in, I finally have a REAL SPACE! Space to create, space to ship, space to sell, space to store inventory and supplies, and most excitingly - space to teach! I’ve had a dream of being able to welcome people into my studio and share the joy of making things and it feels crazy that it’s finally going to be a reality!

My new studio is located in Monterey, just a couple blocks away from Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It will include a retail area, workshop zone, and my studio. If you’re local or in town visiting on vacation, I hope that you’ll be able to come by and visit, or maybe even take a workshop sometime!

I have a lot of work to do to get it up and running, some of which I imagine will take me a few months. Paint, signage, lighting, furniture, display, electrical and venting for the kiln. My goal is to get it up and running as a functioning studio and then add in elements for the workshop component. My to-do list is long! :)

This is a big project that I’m funding with my small savings and ceramic sales income. If you’ve purchased something from me in the past two years - thank you! Your order is helping to fund this space! That said, I’ll be raising more money to help pay for things like light fixtures, paint, workshop chairs, window treatments, an alarm system, etc… (all those things you don’t think about until you need to!). I think I’ll have an instagram story sale at some point to sell some seconds and one-offs. I’m also adding a donate button to my site if you’d like to send a couple bucks my way - even a few dollars to buy me an iced coffee while I paint my day away would be so appreciated! Larger donations of $75 or more will get a special ceramic ornament from me as a thank you gift that I will make and ship after I get the studio up and running. Click here for the donation link.

I’m planning on sharing lots of the process of getting this space up and running. Follow along on instagram, my newsletter, or here on the blog to see how things are progressing. I know I love watching spaces come together and I hope you enjoy it, too.
